 Changing Places Facilities

Changing Places facilities are essential for individuals with disabilities with high support needs who cannot use standard accessible toilets. These facilities ensure dignity and safety for users and their caregivers.

  • Purpose: Offering an environment with all features needed for restroom use, ensuring dignity and safety for individuals and their carers.
  • Standards: Meeting specific design criteria, including minimum room size, appropriate pan and support rails, adult sized height adjustable change table, and ceiling mounted hoist.”
  • Importance: Enabling individuals with severe disabilities to participate in everyday activities and access public spaces.
